Jack and the Beechwood
Lead Facilitator from December 2021 - April 2022
A Theatre for Democracy project which took place with the young people of the Little Beechwood Centre in Merseyside (an estate with one of the highest crime rates in the UK), leading workshops centred around changes they wish to be seen in their area such as better street lighting, bullying and litter. The project culminated in a performance of 'Jack and the Beechwood', a pantomime devised from their testimonies which told the story of a boy going to a castle in the clouds in search for a better place to live.
The final performance done at the community centre and was attended by local MPs and changemakers from the area in order to have a real world impact on the community we were working with.
